There is a basic human need to be heard.

It doesn't always come easy to listen to the mind of another human. The differences between the way they think and the way you think are profound. Learning to suspend your personal perspective in order to really hear another persons thoughts, feelings and understanding is the most important attitude in listening.

Your personal perspective is yours, and is valid, yet to participate in active listening, we must realize how important it is to be present and able to hear what the other person is trying to convey, often times we don't listen when we aren't willing to accept the other person as an individual with their own mind and will. We often jump to problem solving or conveying our perspective when the person sharing really just needs to share and be heard.

We must give to others what we wish for ourselves, a platform to connect with another human and voice what we are experiencing.

I hope you listen. Are you safe right now? If not, you are not alone, reach out. https://www.safefornowblog.com/need-help
