For Better for Worse
Updated: Oct 29, 2020
I will Honor myself, I will use the power given to me to make good with the life before me. I may not always know what I will do, but I will accept what I am meant to accept and put forth my effort. I will take myself for better for worse, and take this life which was given to me and use it as it was meant to be used.
I was recently reading a Ralph Waldo Emerson essay (Self_Reliance), In the essay he says "He must take himself for better, for worse". The poem itself conveys that a man must take his own identity and LIVE it accordingly. To trust yourself with your very life, what a sentiment.
We must take ourselves for better for worse and in so doing we can give what we must to those around us. We must vow to continue on with our very self, make a commitment to maintain our own effort, our uniqueness, our interests and better health.
Write your vow, it is yours. Make a promise to yourself that you will live the life before you, come what may.
